Lupus is a systemic autoimmune disease that occurs when your body's immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems — including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs.
Lupus can affect a woman's chance of becoming pregnant but they should not be discouraged. When working with your doctor a healthy pregnancy is possible.
Although having lupus may make it more difficult to conceive, there are steps you can take to help you have a successful pregnancy.

Thinking about starting a family is a big decision and then adding lupus into the mix may make it feel even more difficult. We want to help you by giving you access to information about pregnancy when you have lupus in one place. We are here to support you in your lupus journey.
